What Sternpost sends

Sternpost is an app on your machine, not a service. Here's everything that leaves it for anywhere other than your own clusters, and everything this site keeps.

The app

  • No analytics, no crash reports, no account. Nothing about your clusters, ever.
  • An update check, a few times a day, to our update server.
  • With it, at most once a day: a random install id, the version and your platform. Turn it off in Settings → Updates → Send anonymous version info.

This site

  • No cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts. That's why there's no cookie banner.
  • Cloudflare serves the pages and sees your IP address to do it. It shows us totals, never a visitor.

If you join the beta

  • Your email, your name if you give one, and your answers on the form, in a private database nobody outside Sternpost can open.
  • A line each time you download a build, with your email and your country.
  • One email with your download link, sent through Resend. No newsletter.
  • Ask for it all to be deleted at beta@sternpost.dev.

Every data point, with an example, where it goes and how long it's kept: What Sternpost sends in the docs.
